My husband and I were driving up the coast at the end of September and stopped numerous times along Hwy 1 to admire the views in Big Sur. While we were watching whales off the coast some travelers on their way south stopped and mentioned they had just passed 4 or 5 condors circling overhead. We quickly headed north but the birds had moved on. Still, it's exciting to know they're there, and we'll continue to keep an eye out for them. How exciting that you got to see them!
